I have recently purchased a second hand model 4 P that indicates it was made in Spain (Muro de Alcoy). Is there a way to determine the wood used to construct the top based on the serial number? Mine is S/N 51001279.
Hello!
Your guitar top is made of Western Red Cedar.
How do you enjoy it?
Thank you for your interest in Alhambra Guitars.
Hello,
Is the model 10p and 11p now discontinued?
Ronald
Hello Ronald,
Yes, they are discontinued, however you still can order them on special orders.
We have a few 11-p left. So let us know if you are interested in a quote.
Cheers and thank you for your interest in Alhambra Guitars.
Hi
I have bought a 6c alhambra guitar .
I live in iran.
I want to know if it is original.
I couldn’t find it in classic models.
Could you tell me how can I recognize is it made in Spain as well as is it original.
Thanks for your help before.
So, someone is trying to sell me an “Al Hambra” guitar, that’s red white and blue. I don’t have a lot of information other than that. Saw a picture and it has Al Hambra at the top (Not Alhambra). So is it safe to bet that this is some kind of knock off?
Sorry, we never built such a guitar.
It would not be safe to buy it.
But you can buy directly from us

I am looking at purchasing a 5-P from a local guitar store. It has a serial number of 16065, and I was wondering what year this guitar was made.
Thank you for contacting Alhambra. After checking our database we can tell you that this guitar was made in March 1998.

Have a great day,
I have a Alhambra 10C which I bought in Brazil a few years ago. The 1st and 2nd strings (B and E) have a tendency to ‘buzz’ unless struck very lightly. It does not seem to be a high fret. I have the feeling that the strings (D’Addario Pro-Arte normal tension) are too loose or lack sufficient tension. Can I safely restring to high tension strings and if so, what brand would you recommend.
Hello,
Thank you for your message. Actually we use extra hard tension D’Addario EXP on all guitars. So, it will be safe to restring your instrument with extra hard tension.
But… even with normal tension your instrument should not create a buzz and we recommend you bring it to a professional.
Over time, with humidity, temperature changes and whatnot, your guitar could have suffer a little.
Thank you for your interest in Alhambra Guitars!
I purchased a used Guitar in 1983. It has the Guild label on it. However, after further investigation, I found out that it’s an Alhambra 5P with a serial number 001100. The label says Guild made in Spain, but the model number and serial number seems correct. Can you please help me understand why? The previous owner told me that the Guitar was sent in for repairs shortly before me buying it. Now that I know more about Guitars, I know that it is definitely an Alhambra. Please help.
Sorry, I do not understand in what way we could help.
Would you mind to give us more precisions?
Thank you for your interest in Alhambra Guitars.
Hi,
I have just purchase a alhambra guitar. And I love to say I’m a proud owner of it.
Would you advise me on using my Jim Dunlop polish 65 to apply on my guitar. My country is hot, and I sweat at most times while playing the guitar. I wouldn’t want my masterpiece to get my sweat stains.
Please advise on how I should maintain my natural finish guitar which has no glossy finish on it
Thanks,
Andy
Hello Andy,
We would recommend to protect your guitar and not only use a polish (that will only remove scratches) but also to protect the wood using carnuba oil.
Hi, I have a 1988 Guild G-6P serial 0217. Can you tell me if this is laminated indian rosewood back and sides, and solid cedar top? Or did you make enhancements for Guild (for instance to all solid)?
thank you
Yes, laminated rosewood back and sides, and solid cedar top.
Have a great day
I have a RAMIREZ 1985 and noticed that they dont make their guitars like they used to anymore. Here is a video I made so you can get idea of the sound. I want another classical just like it. With a HUGE sound. Mistakes are FREE OF CHARGE LOL

What Alhambra Model Matches this sound? I was told that Alhambra used to manufacture for Ramirez. I believe my sides and backsides are made of Rosewood. Thanks for your help.
Hello and thank you for your message.
You will have to ask Ramirez for that.
All the best
